On October 9, 1999 we held our first "Exiled in Iowa" gathering at the Cedar Rapids Public Library. We had over 40 attendees. We sat and talked, watched videos, had lunch and hung out. We watched the first episode of "An Unearthly Child", "The Few Doctors", the lost William Hartnell episode "The Lion", "Curse of Fatal Death", a reconstruction of "The Tenth Planet" and "Earthshock". A good time was had by all. It was such a success that we now have 2 "Exiled" gatherings each year, one in Des Moines in February, and the second in Cedar Rapids in September. But, this was the one that started it all.
